This Policy explains how any personal data that we collect from you or that you provide to us, will be processed by our practice. Personal data is only collected where necessary to service your requests.

What type of data is collected?
When you arrange services via the telephone, visiting the practice, engaging with us on social media, enquiring about our products and services, contacting us with any queries, become a client of the practice, receive emergency, first opinion, outpatient, referral or preventative care, purchase any products from us or in other way use the services of Mrs Darlings Veterinary Surgery you may be asked to provide certain personal data.

Applicants for employment, training, work experience and student placements also provide detailed information about education and previous experience via Curriculum Vitaes. This is required for the assessment of the working capacity of the employee and assessment for training and education purposes.

What are the legal bases for processing my data?
In some circumstances Mrs Darlings Veterinary Surgery will need to process your data to fulfil our contractual obligations. For example, if you become a client of the practice, you are entering a contract with the practice to provide healthcare services to your animals. We will process your data in order to provide these services and this may include information and reminders about disease prevention.

Will any of my data be given to third parties?
Mrs Darlings Veterinary Surgery only passes personal data to third parties in the following circumstances:

How long will my data be kept for?
Mrs Darlings Veterinary Surgery will store your personal data securely for as long as necessary for the purpose for which is was provided, and to meet legislative requirements.

Data that is no longer required will be deleted or destroyed.

You have the right to object to us using your personal data at any time. Please contact the practice in writing if you wish for your personal data to be amended/removed/deleted.

If your pet is ill or injured when the surgery is closed we use a dedicated out of hours emergency provider called Vets Now.

They operate between 7pm and 8am weekdays and from 12 noon on Saturdays through to 8am on Monday mornings. They also cover all bank holidays. You can phone them direct on the number below .

At other times when the surgery is closed leave a message on our answer phone and we will get back to you quickly. Only leave a message for an emergency and remember once Vets Now is open our phone is no longer checked for messages.

Vets Now are happy to take calls at any time through the night and are also happy to give advice if its not necessary to see your pet.
